I met Kelly as a 6th grader at Downtown Middle School. I was instantly in awe of her. She was the coolest mom I had ever seen!! Her red hair and mini-skirts were simply amazing. Who knew that I would learn so much about love and life from this red-headed beauty? Who knew that I would later share such a special part of her life-her store, Patina. Who knew that my first trip to NYC would be with Kelly Jo--what a WILD time we had! Every day I shared with Kelly--learning and growing and watching her transform Patina was a blessing. Every day without Kelly is a struggle, but she is here with us, with me...swirling around and creating creative energy in me that I never would have had without some of the brilliant guidance she shared. Kelly loved so fully and so openly. If she loved you--you knew it. Kelly loved me and I loved her and I always will. She was the glitter and sparkle and sun that filled so many of our days--now we must do what we can to hold, embrace and share that love that overflowed from her. We must create things, encourage those around us and live each day fully--vowing, as Kelly did, to no matter what make this world a better place.
